Luke 6:27-38

Jesus said to his disciples: ‘I say this to you who are listening: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who treat you badly.

It takes a lot of discipline to be a follower of the Lord. All these things he mentions above single themselves into our lives for one purpose. They want to derail you from answering God’s call. The moment you start fighting with your enemies, you find yourself spending too much time and energy on useless stuff. Even when you are winning with your enemies, you are ultimately derailed. Jesus says “ain’t nobody got time for foolishness..” You get on with your God given program and let the noise not disturb you.

Our Lord wants us to be focused on spreading the Kingdom of God. Ours is the task of revealing to the world that God is among us. What I have learned in my long life is this: God takes care of the noise when we let him.
