Luke 9:57-62

As Jesus and his disciples travelled along they met a man on the road who said to him, ‘I will follow you wherever you go.’ Jesus answered, ‘Foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.’

Nothing is as it seems. From a distance it all looks great and wonderful, it all seems like the most beautiful life. Yes it is Facebook perfect from the outside but the lived reality is a challenge. I love how Our Lord tells this young man to think again. The life of discipleship is a challenge. He will have nowhere to lay his head if he decides to go this way. I wonder what challenges those pastors who have private jets have? Big money big problems.

Here is the deal for you and I. Love and make the most of where you are now. Yes dream of a beautiful future and work towards it but do not compare yourself with others. Your life, your pace, your race! Runners will get this one.

Our Lord definitely had challenges but everyday he stepped into the world and people saw his joy. They wanted what he had.
