Mark 7:24-30

Jesus left Gennesaret and set out for the territory of Tyre. There he went into a house and did not want anyone to know he was there, but he could not pass unrecognized. A woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit heard about him straightaway and came and fell at his feet.

Our Lord is in a journey again in very unfriendly territory searching for the lost children of Israel. These are places where most preachers would not go because of one reason or another. But for him, every one and every place must be touched by the grace of God. I love what is happening with the ordinary folk in these places. They do not look at Jesus background as a son of a carpenter as an impediment. No these people give him a chance. In fact they recognize the hand of God at work in him. Today a woman brings to our Lord a tormented daughter. Please lay your hand on her and heal her.

Here is a thought for you. Wherever you end up today, can you ask of your soul this question: Why did God lead me here? Who in this place is in need of understanding? For wherever we are, God’s Grace is present! Amen
